Economic Empowerment

Women still face a glass ceiling in the efforts to reach the highest positions in their field. For every $100 typical women earn, African American women have $23 less to spend on groceries, housing, child care or other expenses compared to men. Despite a history of strong labor attachment and despite gains in educational attainment and occupational status, African American women earn less than any other group. NCBW-Delaware Chapter advocate for livable wage jobs with relevant training to prepare women for the workforce, including formal programs to grow women/minority owned businesses in Delaware.
